Big 12 Women's Puzzle
Published: 2/21/2008 10:03 AM

There's little question that at least six, and maybe more, women's teams from the Big 12 should be in the NCAA Tournament.
That would include Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, two teams that should be a good bet to reach at least the Sweet 16.
But the Big 12 has a handful of teams capable of big things. Or, a quick exit.
Baylor and Oklahoma would appear to be the top two teams although on any given night Oklahoma State or Kansas State look more than capable of beating just about anyone.
There is likely to be a wild scramble in the Big 12 Tournament and then it is anyone's guess who will do well in the NCAAs.
It'll be all about matchups. Getting a good draw, against teams you fit well against, will determine if any of the Big 12's best can reach the Final Four.

"Baylor and OU would appear to be the top two teams".

You are kidding, right?

OSU has beat Baylor and OU head to head. OU has lost to Baylor (twice) and OSU head to head. OSU has beaten Baylor. OU has lost to Baylor twice. OSU has more total wins than OU.

Seems to me you would have to say Baylor and OSU are the top two teams, while OU is a team that can rise up and beat anybody.

John, surely you jest.

This blog comes off as kneww-jerk favoritism. Please bring back some objectivity ... instead of kissing up to Coale and the Big XII.

OSU is for real, and is growing quickly into an NCAA team under Budke. The day he was signed is the day OSU pointed to the future.

Next time you watch OU, take a look at how Paris travels every time she touches the ball! Between that and elbowing/bodying aside all opponents, the rules obviously do not apply.

It's a shame, because she has the size and ability to succeed without the walking and/or thugging ... and doing that is holding her back.

OU is on its way down, John. OSU will soon "own" the Big XII.

(That's coming from a TU fan, btw.)
