Welcome to the Picks blog caught around the world, the weekend mysteries solved.

Last week we heard from from yahoos in the sticks and soldiers in Afghanistan.

OU is getting little respect in the polls. Here's why. Florida State stinks. Missouri is average. Who knows what Texas is. The early thought is Weeden will carve those guys up about the way Jones did. The best wins among the big three are: 1. LSU's obliteration of Oregon. 2. Alabama's dismantling of Arkansas. 3. OU's victory over Texas.

Most conferences can go into the bowl season not knowing how good their teams are. Not so in the SEC. The top two are really good. The rest of the teams in the country, who knows. True, the SEC is getting tons of credit for its past success. Which is the way it goes. The true debacle would be a close Bama-LSU game, and outcries for a rematch in the championship game.

The BCS system is nearing full-out chaos, as Stanford, Wisky, OU, Boise and Clemmie keep winning.

How could anybody be a Missouri Tiger football fan? The coach appears to be in a trance. The quarterback seems to be going after "cool" points. The coach's bland uncaring mood has been accepted by the team of massive under-achievers. Good riddance to the SEC.

Kansas State is older than old-fashioned. It is a minor miracle it's quarterback is still out of a body cast. It's black and white newsreel football. Some fear OU's game there the last weekend of October. Unless horrific weather kicks in, the K-State quarterback will be lucky to be out of the infirmary the morning after.

Tops on the firing line is Arizona's Stoops.

After Ohio State's fold at Nebraska -- had the Ohio State quarterback not been hurt, it would have won going away -- expect the Buckeyes to up the offer to hire Stoops to $2 trillion plus a housing allowance for three dwellings.

Wonder how the OU-Longhorn replay will look on the Texas Network.

Landry Jones is clearly a top ten draft choice, the second quarterback behind the Stanford fellow. Which should make Sooner lovers worry some about a replacement as the scrubs look routine so far.

Fox no longer has the best pre-game show, thanks to idiotic mugging by Bradshaw and the ex-Giant meatball. Chris "Can of Corn" Berman is a heavy load to bear on ESPN. And it's hard to like any network that would hire Phil Simms, the worst analyst in the history of sports. Block out Berman, and the ESPN pre-game show is best. The NFL Network's late Sunday wrap is far and away the best of its type on TV.

The Green Bay quarterback is hands down the best player in the NFL.

Tebow deserves a shot. The biased hate directed toward him is hard to figure. Most people who excel at major college football factories can play in the NFL. It is, after all, where the players come from.

According to Vegas, OU at OSU the last game will be handicapped at close to even, probably about the same as last year, OU by one or two.

The more it change,
the more it stays the same.
Football has ALWAYS come down to the last pairing with mutual unsatisfaction as to who deserves being there.

To see an unbeaten OU and OSU playing in Bedlam might be a once in a lifetime event though.

Has it happened?
If not this year, it might be a long wait!

Someone - please report the previous comment as having too many typos. Or perhaps a TW editor could add an 's' to 'change' and remove the word 'mutual'.
:) Ha

Right on about Pinkel...I watched that game and he said nothing to no one for the 2nd 3rd and most of the 4th quarters, stood there and pouted because Bill Snyder was whipping his team with inferior talent. Reality bites Gary. Way to earn your 7 figure salary: stand there and pout.

LSU is the best team hands down. Sooner fans hate to hear that but there is not an o-line in the country that can block that d-line; throw in a blitzer or 2 and you can start writing the QB's obituary. Haven't seen 'Bama enough to know if their offensive is not slow and stagnant as it has been outside of Julio Jones the past 3 years. LSU has a bit of flair in its offense and some big bruising running backs that seem to get 2-3 extra yds every carry.

Texas' offensive line is just offensive. Throw in a FR QB back there and OU's attacking defense = disaster you witnessed last Saturday. Big ? with OSU is whether or not its defense can hold up against anyone of any quality (i.e. OU). My guess is probably not.

Big 10 is just terrible. Wisconsin is still nothing and has played nothing. Blowout win vs. Nebraska only proves Nebraska is bad (as evidenced by its close game vs. a very bad Ohio St).

BCS needs to start from scratch and remove the AQ labels from the Big Least and ACC, 2 clearly basketball conferences. Outside of CLemson, there is simply not a team in the ACC worthy of any national attention. The Big East has nothing.

Dig at Todd Graham: That's what you get for chasing the money. Getting blown out by Rutgers. Yep, Pitt is certainly a better gig than TU right now. Way to go you money grubbing slime ball

On the Pitt Panther radio talk shows, Graham is getting ripped for his arrogance by the Pitt fans. Example: He told the university he needed a helicopter last weekend so he could fly from one area high school game to another to look for recruits!!!

bgb, you spent too many days in the heat. "I'll take OU's defense and I'll take OU on Jan 9th."

Your kidding me right? Obviously anyone who has watched both OU and LSU can tell you that LSU's "D" is in a different stratosphere than OU's. It's way too obvious.

And by the way, if you don't lose to KSU in a few weeks you still have a game Dec. 3rd that might have you playing before Jan 9th dude.
