Our old friend, radio personality Bill Simonson, interviewed Bob Stoops on "The Huge Show" Wednesday in Detroit.
Simonson — who dubbed himself "Captain Huge" when he ran an afternoon radio gig here in Tulsa in the mid '90s — asked the Oklahoma coach about the possibility of the Detroit Lions selecting defensive tackle Gerald McCoy with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft on April 22.
The scenario of quarterback Sam Bradford going No. 1 to St. Louis also came up.
"I know (Nebraska's) Ndamukong Suh is also an incredible (player) that's up there. About those two guys (Bradford and McCoy), having worked with them the last four years, they are absolutely amazing people," Stoops said. "Just incredibly sharp young men that are really devoted players. Really disciplined and hard-working guys that'll be great wherever they go."
