Biggest Story Ever?

The NFL has out-muscled itself.

For the first time ever, runners don't matter in pro football.

The sport has become so insanely violent, with 250-pound linebackers and safeties delivering tortuous blows play after play, the star NFL rusher has become extinct. Five or ten runs toward where daylight used to be, you're a concussion or orthopedic study.

Who runs for New Orleans? Nobody. Who runs for New England? Nobody. Who runs for New Green Bay? Nobody.

Drafting a runner is a wasted pick. Get four or five bruisers and use them to run once in a while.

Is there even a thousand-yard rusher around to live to tell about it? A thousand yards is only 65 or so a game.

In pro basketball news, ho-hum, see you at the finals in July or whenever it is, it took one day to figure that sport out: It's Miami and the OKC Thunder in the finals, where Miami will mop them up in six. Thanks to the Thunder for talking OKC minds off the sinking Sooners. The only thing that could derail the Thunder is a feud between Westbrook and Durant. The beard, Harden, could be better than Westbrook anyway.

You either have a great quarterback, or you have a so-so team. Would love to see less emphasis on the QB and more on the run game like the game used to be played.
Perhaps a weight limit should be imposed? :)

Very few readers of the ‘Snicker
make it through one article w/out going “Huh?”
Very few TV viewers make it through those
reality/award/talk shows & actually learn something
Very few folk’s have actually ever read a book
Very few OU fans understand that OSU is now
on equal footing when it comes to recruiting, facilities, & coaching.
Very few Thunder fans can’t give Memphis & those pesky Mavs ‘nuff credit
Very few TU b-ball fans actually attend games
(Any TU fans left who support Time to go, Wojo?)
Very few NFL running backs make it through a season w/out some sort of injury.

1st, 14 players sue the NFL for ‘not doing enough to prevent concussions”
IF NFL looses that one, ACL injuries are next,
Lawyers will be the big winners, the fans will be the losers as the NFL can only survive w/ more “wussification” of the game.

Pick... Didn't you criticize the Thunder for taking Harden and Westbrook? Oh well, consistenincy isn't your thing. Hope Hastein ejoyed the premium seats for opening night. I sure hope you found something to do other than stopping at our truck stops... You know, since that is all we have going for us...;)

Actually, Reggie Bush, most popular USC player in Okiehoma history rushed for more than 1,000 this season.

Reggie probably bought some of those yards on a kick back scheme through his mom and dad.

Dismissing the entire NBA season..... Hmmmm....

Typical....

Really, who cares about the NBA? The mask was pulled off and we got to see who the people that play the game and the people who pull their strings really are.

Really, who cares about the NBA?

No one in Tulsa....

The Thunder is nice.

Perkins is still getting his one basket a night. But at least now he looks like a player.

It's a shame but all you have to watch of a pro hoop game is the last five, six, or seven minutes. Nothing that happens early has anything to do with most endings.

Thunder versus Miami. Pass the flipper.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
