Black Eye Formation

Who was it who said that this week he would rank the teams this way?

1. Georgia.

2. OU.

3. USC.

Somebody said USC played in such a terrible conference (Oregon State probably won't finish .500) that it should be penalized.

Somebody said teams shouldn't be ranked until October.

Somebody said that if you run something old-fashioned like the I formation and didn't run the spread, you were out of it.

Oh yeah.

It's all coming back.

You heard all that right here.

I assume you're telling us all this because you just knew that oregon st. could beat the no. 3 team, but there's no chance they could upset a no. 1?
Dash Riprock (4 years ago)
This from the same 'prognosticator' that said Tennessee would beat the Gators of Florida last week, right?
World Picker (4 years ago)
Steve, that's exactly it. Very perceptive of you.

Slippery Rock, yes, the same one who said Mich State would obliterate ND, and that Colorado plus was the genius play versus West Virginnie.

ESPN has pumped up USC to a comical degree, Fowler about cried last night.

Hey Licker,
Go back to your last blog and read what I wrote. Everyone said I was crazy for my predictions about USC- remember? You said that people might have thought I knew what I was talking about until I told you all about USC. And what I recall you saying is that USC would be in the National Championship game. You didn't think USC had an old-fashioned offense when you said they had the best passing game in the history of college football. You said they were too big and fast to be touched. You predicted an easy roll through the PAC-10.
It was I who told you of their willingness to overlook games like this, Licker. I told you all about this and people screamed that I was an idiot. And what happened?
You still want them at number three? And watch Oregon State rip off some wins and make a bowl.

Slippery Rock?? You do realize that you have confused the whole Clampett brood with your name calling don't you? For heaven's sake, they'll be a-settin an additional place at the table for vittles.

Oregon State couldn't rip off a food stamp.

There's a difference in picking and preparing yourself for that old familiar heartbreak.

Why can't OU be #1?
World Picker (4 years ago)
Marguerite, it's starting to be next to impossible to stay put on top, not a jinx, it's just too much pressure.

Nobody can hold on to number one in the polls more than a couple or three weeks.

It's not important anyway, just win every game by a point.

Pick, didn't you say that Ohio State was starting to look underrated after their loss to USC? If that's the case, Penn State must be the most underrated team of all time and will kill Ohio State seeing how as they destroyed Oregon State 45-14, right?
JC (4 years ago)
your top 3 should have been all SEC teams
cyco myko (4 years ago)
I might not have picked Oregon State, per se, but I did tell you about USC. And that sure wasn't the song you were singing in the previous weeks.

The only black eye I see is the pickers after he fell in love with Georgia!

Picker, it's refreshing to see you owning up to your mistakes. Georgia and USC - what were you thinking?
Nit Picker (4 years ago)
There are some Trojan defenders that never saw that Beaver running back until Pete hit the Slo-Mo button on the game film Friday.

Is the SEC still "light years" better than all other conferences?

ESPN will always be in the tank for USC--it is in the largest TV market known to mankind. One must learn to live with it.

According to the TCU coach, they 'gave ' the game to OU.
He's wrong.
Sam Bradford purloined it.

Penn State = the team you missed in the Poll Axe rant.
