Bob Stoops finally gets the message

It looks like the Bob Stoops legacy will rest primarily with Mike Stoops, who hasn't stopped anybody in years.

We have been saying for more than five years that winning a watered-down conference and playing in a second-rate bowl was not good enough for OU.

Finally, Stoops understands.

He has gutted his staff, throwing so many assistants under buses that traffic is apt to be backed up for miles around the stadium, what with all the leaving and arriving.

Most of the firings probably have to do with recruiting, which has been lousy of late. Whereas OU once beat out people like Texas and Bama for players, recently it has been going tooth and nail with your Vandys.

The time is right for Stoops to get serious. Alabama has players messing with the law and is due a slide. The SEC can't win them all forever. Can it?

It looks like the Bob Stoops legacy will rest primarily with Mike Stoops, who hasn't stopped anybody in years. They're still celebrating his departure at Zona. Hiring a brother and putting him in charge of the defense is no temporary fix. It is a career maker or buster. Tossing a brother would be an admission of personal failure. You might think that if one ever goes, so would the other.

Our advice has been heeded.

The game is back on.

The loss of the stud defensive tackle to A&M was apparently more than Bob could handle. He may have addressed recruiting woes, however, philosophy will continue to haunt OU's defense until radical changes are made.

My mother knows more about defense than Mike Stoops, what an embarrassment the man is. Bob needs to admit he made a mistake and get rid of this loser, only then will they start winning the big ones.

Sttops can't win with the Pick and alot of fans; if he keeps coaches he is "too loyal", if he gets rid of them he is "throwing them under the bus". Unless he wins the National Championship, he's a loser. I don't always agree with him but.....Remember the days before Stoops?

It does appear that Coach Stoops is serious, again. Good for OU.

"We have been saying"? How many pickers are there? The idea that Bob Stoops has taken advice from the Picker is another reminder of just how big is the Picker's ego.

"Alabama has players messing with the law"- they have ONE incedent involving 4 players, all of which have been indefinitely suspended and will be kicked off the team eventually. This is HARDLY a pattern of behavior within the program. The truth of the matter is that Bama was oversigned and so I'm sure Nick Saban is not losing sleep that he will have to dismiss these 4 players.

Pick, keep up the good work. The truth hurts a lot of feelings. losing hurts a whole lot more.

The most recent Alabama criminal outbreak looks like an episode of "Cops."

Perhaps before the season, Bob Stoops will step out of the shower, ala Bobby Ewing, and the hiring of Mike Stoops will be erased as being part of a bizzare dream sequence???

No improvement with all of the changes could result in firings at the top after the season???

Yeah, yeah - after Gibbs, Blake and Smelley - Castiglione is going to fire a consistent 10-3 head coach with a national championship.

OU68 is right. The John Blake Experiment is Bob Stoops' best friend.

Look at Arizona. The new coach got those players playing. So they HAVE players, Mike just didn't put it together. Mike is probably a better recruiter than coach. We shall see.
