So in other words, Texas said to OU, how do you and your media puppets like the Pac Ten today? Now that the Pac Ten dumped you like a homely prom date, you still looking forward to a day at the Berry Farm in LA? A nice walk down the Santa Monica pier? Lovely drive to Utah?
Texas said here's the way it's going to work. We'll do anything to anybody any time anywhere and for any reason.
We will keep every penny of the $300 million that we conned ESPN out of. You want your own network, fine, have at it. Put it on the Peanut Channel for all we care.
If you do exactly as we say, then we'll permit you to tiptoe back into the Big 12. But don't mess with us or we'll have you banished to the Pac Ten for good.
Boren said spin, spin, spin, spin.

Now Picker !!! Boren name dropped Margaret Thatcher making him the best negotiator known to man-kind while standing in front of his own painting of himself. No, there's no ego there. So President Boren doesn't know what's going on either? Am I sure ? Spin, spin, spin and even got Stoops to sit in on it. Did you miss practice to do that coach ?? What a cluster !

Looks like Big Game Bob, a.k.a. Superman, needs to flash all of those Big 12 Championship rings underneath the Texas AD and President's nose. If I were Texas, I would hope that OU would leave the Big 12 and even offer to pay the exit fee. That way, maybe Mack Brown could win some more championship rings.

Right on Picker!
Dave "the Big Choo Choo" Boren chuggin along again, everyday he sounds a little more like he is back in D.C. putting the shine on a big old load of......

Seems to me that if the problem is Texas, the answer to the problem is eliminating Texas. The other 8 Big XII (-3) administrators should give Texas an ultimatum. Share the revenue equally, or take your precious network and its 3% of homes distribution and tell ESPN to run with it. The other schools could reform the Big 8 and go from there. Playground bullies usually end up alone...

ou needs ut. look at ou's roster, more guys on it from texas than anywhere else. if they don't play ut than recruiting in texas goes pfffft. like it or not, ou ergo the big 12 needs texas, texas doesn't them. sad

After all that “posturing” by OU Prez
Texas is now even in a stronger bargaining position
What’s the best solution
to hold the Big 12 together?
Vote Texas out?
Could the Big 12 do that?
Would they do that?
Would more BCS schools be “open”
to Big 12 flattery IF Texas was no more?
But What Do I Know?
(last year)
After this years mauling on Oct. 9 the shorthorns can leave the Cotton Bowl saying "Well they put a real whippin' on us today but look what we did to them on conference realignment". That will make them feel better.
But What Do I Know?

Actually i think it's Oct. 8 but the message will be the same.

The point about recruiting Texas is no joke. Iowa State has 24 kids from Texas and 3 from Oklahoma.

The conference needs Texas to keep their TV contract. How much do you think the Big 12(9)tv contract would go down if Texas and their 30 million tv sets were no longer in the conference.

That Big Ten is just one big Party Pooper.
The media had whipped this into an Oklahoma kick-a%%ing of Texas. Who'd have suspected that Oklahoma sportswriters would fall all over themselves in praise of a politician no less.
"Mess"?
I know you wanted that whole line. LOL

I have to agree with BGB on this one picker, you say it is the worst thing in the world for OU et al to go PAC 12, then slam them for not going. Let us get one thing straight, the PacLeft seeing that OU Texas OSU Tech weren't wetting themselves to come join them in la la land were the ones posturing. We won't be expanding at this time harumph harumph. At least not at the price tag OU and Texas go for. Yea sure they turned down OU, uh huh.
