Boulder will be heavy lifting for Cowboys

After absorbing a 23-point road defeat at Texas A&M on Wednesday night, Oklahoma State's basketball team needs an opponent that it can "get well" against.

Traditionally, that would be someone like Colorado, which has spent enough time in the Big Eight/Big 12 cellar to be covered in cobwebs.

As a matter of fact, OSU's next game is at Colorado. But all of a sudden that's not such good news.

Colorado tuned up for the game by beating Kansas State in Manhattan. The Buffs are 2-0 in Big 12 play and have won consecutive games against ranked opponents (Missouri, K-State) for the first time in school history.

Obviously, this is not the best time to be making a trip to Boulder. The Cowboys will have to be good enough Saturday to overcome bad timing.

Ford can't get it done and should be fired at the end of the season

Not to argue the point of the blog, but OSU might need a "get well" game if they have been consistently bad against several better opponents. This team had one bad game, preceded by a good one, preceded by a fairly good one, preceded by a rotten one, and so on. You get the point. This team cannot produce consistently on offense, and the rest of the year looks to be a long one, not just the next game.

This team is what it is - not by a lack of coaching, but recruiting. This year, OSU is better equipped than Sean Sutton's last one where Byron Eaton would hold the ball for 30 seconds and try to dribble-drive the land and either throw up a brick or create a turnover.

OSU has athletes who can defend and some who can score, but only one shooter on the team. Furthermore, J.P. Olukemi is the only one who can create his own shot somewhat consistently (when at home). This is why the Cowboys were picked to finish 8th in the Big 12 by the coaches.

g-block are you saying Ford does not recruit?

I think that is one of his first jobs.

PS Sean and Eddie recurited several MC All-Americans, how many has Ford recruited. The last great player James Anderson is a Sutton recruit
