Bowls Full of Leftovers

The Hooterville Cams are out in full force.

The Hooterville Cams are used to show the bowls games without all the empty seats and empty sections -- backgrounds to punts are blurred, most action is shown straight down.

The bowl season has never been worse. Even with a contest entry on the line, it's hard to watch five minutes of the meaningless games.

They can't give away tickets to the OSU bowl game in Dallas.

And poor TU -- when it got off the airplane in cold Memphis, they didn't even give our guys a gate or an Elvis impersonator, the plane stopped out on the tarmac and the players appeared to be in a sequel to Ice Station Zebra.

Since nobody goes or cares, how can the bowls exist?

It's the TV money.

Sponsors must think somebody is watching.

Bowls are even dangerous for victorious teams like Baylor. Win big and your coach could move on up to the big time.
