Box trying to make it back

Oklahoma made it through the Big 12 championship without starting middle linebacker Austin Box, who injured his knee at Oklahoma State the previous week. Still, the Sooners would love to have him back on the field for Florida Jan. 8. That way, they could move Travis Lewis back to the weak side and feel more comfortable about containing the Gators' track squad of an offense.
But will that happen?
"He's not practicing yet," OU coach Bob Stoops said this week. "He's conditioning and lifting and doing some things like that. So he's getting close."
"Hopefully Austin can start practicing when we get back," defensive coordinator Brent Venables said, referencing the Christmas break the Sooners are on until this weekend. "That's the plan."
