Somebody make them stop.

Or at least hurry.

The NBA season is what, all but the Fourth of July weekend?

Couldn't they at least handle the best of seven marathons like the colleges? Lump all the games reasonably together instead of stringing them out?

Here's what happened over the opening weekend.

The showboating refs were horrendous. They missed a goal tending call in the Thunder win, cheating Denver big-time, and called an offensive arm-check on Anthony in the Boston squeaker.

As theorized here earlier, Perkins is doing nothing but throw around some elbows for the OKC people, a free throw lane bouncer. Four shots versus Denver in the opener, that's absurd. There's a cure for that. THROW THE BASKETBALL INSIDE!

It doesn't appear that the OKC coach knows quite what to do with a center.

The teams, ranked:

1. Miami.
2. Lakers.
3. The rest.

Laz, yeah, not bad, probably a contender for number 3. But there's not a lot to go with that guard, is there. And over the course of how many, ten seven-game playoff series, he, along with the NO guy, Paul, is apt to wind up weighing 110. He is good. And young. Which puts him one-up on most of 'em.

What starts with Passion, and nine months later FINALLY comes to an eventual end that only pleases some, and is a disaster for others.

A woman's Pregnancy, and the NBA season.

Miami, really??? You just proved you know nothing about the NBA...

New, so who do you like against my Heat, huh?
Pick one team and it's on.

The NBA season should end before the baseball season begins, or at least by Memorial Day. But wait. RUN! The owners wouldn't be able to make all that moolah to pay the salaries of the over priced no talent players.

I agree with Someone New. The Bulls have been the best team in the East this season. Any of the top 5 seeds can win the West. However, until someone knocks them off, the Lakers are the team to beat this season.

I thought all the NBA cared about was about improving the minds of America's youth.

Anybody notice that the league said officially that the call in the Thunder game was garbage, that Denver was robbed!

Because Perkins doesn't score often he isn't effective? Is that a serious statement?

Calling all former tough defenders from the NBA, your status and worthiness has been stripped by a Tulsa cartoon.

Sorry if Perkins' aggressive play is too much for your delicate pallet, Pick. Maybe you would be better off playing Cricket in a skirt?

Hee Haw Radio, the Sports Animal out of OKC, is almost reason enough to dislike the Thunder. The instant experts don't even have 20/20 hindsight.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
