Bradford to the Rams?
Published: 10/25/2009 3:45 PM

Sam Bradford going to the St. Louis Rams would be about as brutal as his buddy Blake Griffin being drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers last summer. The Rams just lost their 17th straight game, 42-6, to the Colts, and their starting quarterback Marc Bulger was a mess. Much like the franchise.

Should Bradford decide to turn pro, and should the Rams trust that his shoulder can withstand NFL heat, this could be a match made in... well, this could be a match anyway.

It's enough that writers at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch have weighed in. Check it out...

"I'd go with Washington's Jake Locker," blogs Bernie Miklasz. "The red flags are out on Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford; it’s not only the shoulder injuries, but the questions of whether he can throw while under pressure, because he doesn’t encounter much of a pass rush at OU."

Vahe Gregorian stands with Bradford: "If he’s available, the Rams would be wise to snap him up. Although he could stand to be more mobile, especially considering the Rams line, last year’s Heisman Trophy winner has all the tools to build a team around: accuracy (67.9 percent of his passes last season), height (6-4) and a leadership presence that makes players want to play better just for him."

Jeff Gordon takes an interesting, although unlikely, angle: "The ideal scenario would be Bradford electing to come out in this draft and slipping into the second round because of his shoulder injury. He could be a great second pick."

I agree, I do not think he would make it very long, if even at all, I wouldnt be surprised at all if he wasnt picked up by anybody, and it also depends on his surgery, hopefully it will go well as planned. The hits on the shoulder wasnt anything that we didnt encounter in high school. I wish him luck.

Bradford will not slip to the second round. He may go mid to late first, but he will probably go high in the first. Teams like TB, STL, WAS, are desperate. If he does slip to a better team in the late first round, it could be a god send for Bradford. If he gets into the same situation Aaron Rodgers got a few years ago, he could end up a HOF QB.

Bradford and the Rams, a match made in HEAVEN! I say this because if Sam is still the number one pick in the draft, he should feel great about going anywhere, St. Louis, Oakland, Detroit, Tampa...WHEREVER...$30 million spends the same in St. Louis as it does Dallas!

Sadly, Bradford isn't going to be the number one pick...too many question marks now. I think he'll be late first/early 2nd round.

I would love to see Sam go play in Big D or to Denver. After all the Broncos and the Cowboys have looked to Sooner talent in years past. Sam could be ready to play by year 2 in the NFL.
Sam needs to mature and get used to the pace and feel of playing in the NFL and being NFL ready.
My prediction is that IF Sam goes to any team in need of him starting immediately as a rookie,, then his career will not blossom as he hopes it will.
Sam has not yet mastered the skill(s) of getting down to avoid taking a hit or getting out of the way of a serious blitz or rush!!! With time and patience and a better teacher..he can learn these skills.
Therefore going in the second round is a better deal in the long run for Sam...in my view.

For the record.. Landry Jones has much better foot work than Sam did at the same point in his career. Plus Landry has some pretty good speed and running with the ball skills where as Sam seems to trip over his own feet. Landry's achiles heel at this point as a rookie is his accuracy with his passes and not throwing the ball to a point in a recievers pattern.
Watching the Kansas game it looked like he Jones was tossing several balls that were too tall, and some balls he threw (at)the reciever instead of at a point where the reciever should make contact with the ball.
I hope Landry is a fast under-study and wish him the opportunity patience and wisdome to have a great career with OU.
