Last week Oklahoma lost coveted prep wide receiver Eric Ward to Texas Tech. Now comes word that two more Sooner commitments are hardly that -- athlete Darius Jones has switched to Baylor, while linebacker Brandon Mahoney is considering Texas A&M.
OU can use some good news on the recruiting front. Perhaps its Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback can help in that regard.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Sam Bradford spent a considerable amount of time with Garden City (Kan.) Community College wide receiver Cameron Kenney during Kenney's visit to OU last week.
"Bradford is a great guy, down to earth," Kenney told the Atlanta paper. "He feels very strongly that they will compete again for the national championship next year, and said that played a major factor in him returning to Oklahoma. He said they need wide receivers, guys he has confidence in that can makes plays. He said he hoped that we could be teammates on next year’s national champions."
Will Bradford's pitch pay off? We'll know soon. Kenney, a former Auburn commitment, will reportedly decide between OU and Georgia after he visits Athens.
