Bradford versus Griffin: Bradford or Griffin?

Bradford has far and away the better arm. But he is lacking in mobility and is sacked as much as beer. Sacks equal concussions.
Griffin is wildly athletic. Too bad this isn't a decathalon. He slings it from slightly down under. Running quarterbacks attract knee and shoulder injuries.
Griffin could become the next.....wildly athletic quarterback who has never won much of anything.
Take Michael Vick. Take Cam Newton. Take Tebow. They do everything but win NFL titles.
Bradford could become the next.....Marino or Manning (Eli), the next great arm who needs a whole lot of help.
Griffin could wind up on the better team. St. Louis was pitiful last year.
It's not like St. Louis has much of a choice about which one to keep, Bradford or Griffin. Bradford was paid a royal family's ransom and has to stay in St. Louis.
Here's the payoff line: Pocket passers win more. Period. College or pro. Wildly athletic quarterbacks dazzle the ESPN jugheads, that's all.
Bradford by an inch.

I think Griffin is probably more like Steve Young than Vick, Newton, or Tebow. I still would take Bradford though because I'm an Oklahomer and I have no shame.

Griffin is more like Vince Young and Coach Fisher knows the Rams O-Line stinks so he could easily try to catch himself an RGIII, then run the same offensive offense he used in Tennessee.

Took the words right out of my mouth, Matt. I agree that G3 is more like Young. I'd take Bradford any day.

Plus they paid him $50 million.
Even up, same $, who would be taken?

Griffin is nothing like Vince Young. He can throw the ball.
Picker's way off about Cam Newton. Remember, he's was a rookie and put up amazing stats. Look at comparative rookie year numbers:
Eli Manning (started, classic pocket passer)
2004: 95-195 (48%), 1043 yds, 6 TDs, 9 INTs, 55.4 rating, plus 35 yards rushing
Sam Bradford (classic pocket passer)
2010: 354-590 (60%), 3512 yds, 18 TDs, 15 INTs, 76.5 rating, plus 63 yds rushing
Cam Newton (pass/run threat)
2011: 310-517 (60%), 4051 yds, 21 TDs, 17INTs, 84.5 rating, plus 706 yards rushing.
Vince Young: His team went 8-5 in games he started his rookie year.
2006: 184-357 (51.5%),2199 yds, 12 TDs, 13 INTs, 66.7 rating, plus 552 yds rushing.
Tim Tebow: In his rookie year he played sparingly:
2010: 41-82 (50%), 654 yds, 5 TDs, 3 INTs, 82.1 rating, plus 227 yds rushing
In the following year when he started most games:
2011 (reg. season): 126-271 (46.5%), 1729 yds, 12 TDs, 6 INTs, 72.9 rating, plus 660 yds rushing.
Newton had by far the best rookie season.
RG3 is not a Tebow or Young type of passer. He has more accuracy than both and a stronger arm than Young. Though he's shorter, his delivery is more traditional.
