Bringing Games to the Fans

There are more than 50,000 reasons why it is a good idea for Washington State to drive more than 300 miles to open its college football season.
The Cougars have just 35,117 seats at Martin Stadium in Pullman.
However, WSU decided it might be a good idea to bring Cougar football to its fans five hours west over the Cascades and down into Seattle.
That first year (2002 against Nevada), the game in Seattle drew 63,588 fans.
So, the Cougars now have one game a year in Seattle at Qwest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks.
Washington State has lost just once in those previous six games in Seattle (Colorado in 2004).
Tulsa does not have a football stadium to lure state teams like OSU and Oklahoma to Tulsa.
However, the new BOK Center is bigger than the arenas in Norman and Stillwater. And, OU and OSU fans, just like the WSU fans in Seattle, would love to see their teams play a game in their hometown.
Here’s hoping the Cowboys and Sooners will make an annual basketball date at the BOK Center.
