Broyles' gloves worth digging through trash for

Still can't get excited about Texas Tech. Still more interested in the all-time receptions record Ryan Broyles broke at Kansas last week. Still blows me away.
A funny back story – Oklahoma associate AD Kenny Mossman needed the gloves Broyles used to break Taylor Stubblefield's record late last Saturday night. There was this problem, however.
"I threw them away in the third quarter," Broyles said.
Recall that Broyles fumbled at the goal line in that quarter.
"I fumbled that ball, so I figured I needed a new pair," he said. "I'm superstitious."
Lose a ball, lose your gloves, even if they're destined for the college hall of fame.
"After the game, (Mossman) was like, 'Where are your gloves?' I said, 'You know what…'"
The story has a happy ending. The gloves were a little sticky from tossed-away Gatorade bottles, but they were retrievable. They're off to the hall of fame, along with the ball Broyles caught for the record.
"It's going to be up there for a couple months, and then they'll bring it back to me," Broyles said. "It's going to my mom's house."
