In keeping with Bill Haisten's terrific piece on Kansas coach Bill Self today, here are a couple Self-made quotes regarding OU coach Jeff Capel from the Lawrence Journal World:
"He’s good. They wouldn’t have hired him (from Virginia Commonwealth) unless they thought he’d do a good job. His team is sound. They rebound. They guard very well."
As for OU sophomore-to-be Blake Griffin: "I’ve known Blake a long time. We thought we might have an outside chance (of signing him out of Oklahoma Christian in Edmond) until Jeff got the job."
Consider that reason #1,405 Sooner fans should be grateful Joe Castiglione and David Boren pulled Capel from VCU two years ago.
