Cinnamon Thinks Vick Should be Suspended
Published: 7/19/2007 4:01 PM

Cinnamon, the family dog, is not a big sports fan.
But she's been paying attention to the Michael Vick saga.
When you start talking about the allegations that Vick participated in actions that led to dog fighting and dog executions, the family dog listens.
It is her opinion that Vick should be suspended until we know more.
And, if it is proven that even a small portion of the allegations are true, then Vick should not only be banned from football but from every other respectable venture.
The allegations of killing dogs by hanging, drowning and electrocution is so disgusting it almost defies belief.
Usually, federal indictments are pretty solid. It was reported on ESPN that federal indictments result in a conviction rate of nearly 95 percent.
So, Vick better hope he's a part of the five percent. Otherwise, there are enough dog lovers in this country to make his future pretty bleak.
Cinnamon the dog would like for him to have his day in court.
However, if these allegations are true, Cinnamon wants the maximum penalty.
Cinnamon's parents, who were lucky enough to get her from Golden Retriever rescue three years ago, couldn't agree more.

I agree with Cinnamon, only maybe more so. The kinds of things done to these dogs does indeed make one almost sick. In my opinion he should never be allowed to play again and needs to face some very serious hard time. We need to take an indepth look at the psychological makeup of characters that get their jollys out of watching and causing dumb animals to maim and kill one another. To breed and trains dogs for this purpose is no less a crime and needs to be addressed as such.

I agree 100 percent. Let's send Vick to a shelter and see if anyone wants to adopt him. How can the Falcons or any other team in the league promote this guy when he's been linked to such cruel behavior? Michael Vick makes Marcus Vick appear normal.

How this pitiful saga plays out will tell us a great deal about American society, in my opinion.

Our culture has placed athletes and celebrities on such a pedestal that they are simply not subjected to the same laws or morality that the rest of us are. (See: OJ Simpson & Robert Blake).

Vick deserves his day in court. If and when he's found guilty, we'll find out how pathetic our system of justice is when it comes time for sentencing.

Prediction: his co-conspirators will do prison time; Vick will get probation and a "naughty, naughty!"

Sad, but true Bill. Atheltes and celebrities have gotton off easy way too many times before, but I think it is going to be different with Vick, which also may be a sad statement about our society. I think more people are outraged about Vick's charges than say other charges that have been brought up against atheletes like sexual assault. I think Vick sees jail time and never plays another down in football, if not I think alot of Americans will be furious.

I'd like to bite Vick.
