NORMAN -- Oklahoma continues preparing for its Big 12 Conference opener Saturday against Kansas State without forward Keith Clark.
Clark, a 6-8 reserve averaging 5.4 points for the 12-3 Sooners, was not at practice for the second straight day Thursday. He last attended practice Sunday afternoon, but did not suit up for OU's game against Mount St. Mary's Monday night. The Sooners took Tuesday off.
Asked if he had an update on Clark's situation, believed to hinge on class issues, OU coach Jeff Capel said: "As soon as I find out, we'll let you know."
Asked if the absence was short-term, Capel replied: "We'll see."
The Sooners take a hit if it proves long-term. Clark averaged 9 points in OU's last two victories, during which he showed some of the versatility and raw talent that made him a national-caliber signee out of Putnam City two years ago.
Without Clark, the Sooners' frontline rotation would be reduced to Blake Griffin, Longar Longar and Taylor Griffin.
