Clarke comes back from scary fall; OU men's basketball climbing

Rotnei Clarke will be back in the Butler lineup soon, but he will miss the team's big showdown this week.

Clarke took a scary tumble into the basket standard after a foul during a Jan. 12 game against Dayton.

Check out the video below.

The former Oklahoma high school star and Arkansas Razorback has a sprained neck. Butler announced Monday the injury will keep Clarke out for two games, including Saturday's top 15 battle between the Bulldogs and No. 8 Gonzaga.

But after watching that collision, you have to feel good Clarke can return at all this season.

Clarke is the team's leading scorer, averaging 16.3 points per game while shooting 44.4 percent from 3-point range.

(Read the Indianapolis Star's coverage of Clarke's injury here).

Speaking of Butler, the Bulldogs are 15th in the latest RPI rankings released by the NCAA on Monday.

Kansas is three, while Oklahoma jumped from No. 19 to No. 14 after its big win over Oklahoma State last weekend. Even the Cowboys got a bump from the loss, moving from 36 to 35.

Remember, every BCS conference team in the RPI top 55 last year made the NCAA Tournament.

Although OSU is spiraling, the Cowboys' early win against North Carolina State will help them immensely come tournament time. OSU can accomplish less in the Big 12 season than Oklahoma and still have a better chance at making the tournament (or securing a higher seed) because of that victory.

(N.C. State is 12th in the latest RPI, by the way. The full list is here.)

Case in point: In the latest ESPN Bracketology, both OU and OSU are No. 9 seeds (Follow ESPN's early bracket projections here).
