College Football Sinks Lower
Published: 5/27/2009 3:29 PM

Because of the BCS, which picks the two biggest bullies to play in a final national exhibition game, college football has become something of a joke.

The champion isn't even mythical.

It is comical.

Nobody likes the BCS except the elite teams who get in a lot even though they don't deserve it.

Now college football has entered cess-pool depths: it will no longer require that coaches make public their poll ballots!

This way, they can vote for more of their friends, and omit more of their enemies.

Secret rites, what is this, a foreign country?

Let's go ahead and let the coaches secretly referee the games their teams aren't in while we are at it. Isn't that the next step?

And have their own writers and reporters.

Wait.

They already do.

Tattoo, you are the one thing I can count on each day.

Trolling the Picker's board to try and get his cell phone number for a dinner date.

Silly little boy.

Your right picker, I love the BCS, because my team is one of the elite.

If you voted your true beliefs and stood ready to defend them why not have an open balloting? This is not a "democratic" election , it is just a football poll, and no more entitled to reverance than explaining why you prefer "classic" coke to the new stuff.

Six to five Tattoo's tattoo is misspelled.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
