Colorado not taking kindly to Capel

It's a real possibility Oklahoma (a potential 5 seed) could face Colorado (count on a 12) in the first round of the Big 12 tournament. If so, it will be very interesting to hear the two head coaches' comments leading up to the game.

Feb. 9, if you'll recall, OU's Jeff Capel described the Sooners' 72-58 loss in Boulder as "the most embarrassing thing I've ever been a part of."

Colorado coach Jeff Bzdelik took that comment more than a little personally, something he made clear after the Buffaloes' 87-69 loss to Texas Tech Feb. 20.

"Am I embarrassed? Yes," Bzdelik told the Longmont (Colo.) Daily Call. "But give credit to Texas Tech ... I’m not going to be one of those coaches that says this is the most embarrassing moment of my life. I’m not going to be like that.

"I’ll show class and give Texas Tech credit for the way they play the game. And I know they taught us great lessons in how to play."

Who knew there was a Sooners-Buffaloes hoops rivalry bubbling beneath the surface after all these years?

Look before you leap. Think before you speak. Anything and everything can become bulletin board material.
