Cowboy Caravan set for Tuesday at Renaissance Hotel

The annual Tulsa stop on the Cowboy Caravan tour is set for Tuesday at the Renaissance Hotel, 6808 South 107th East Avenue.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The 6:30 program features Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy and men’s basketball coach Travis Ford.

Admission is $10 per person. Children age 12 and younger are admitted free.

Cowboy football players are scheduled to report on Thursday for preseason camp. The first practice occurs on Friday, and the Fan Appreciation Day event is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.

Tulsa World Sports Writer Jimmie Tramel is a former class president at Locust Grove High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
