Nolan Richardson (left) and Tiffany Jackson. JEFF LAUTENBERGER/Tulsa World

And the winner of the luckiest person in the world contest is coach Nolan formerly of the Shock troops.

Remember all those who wanted him gone? The websites full of anonymous eels wanting him fired? Where are you now? Are you happy with scoring a big fat 7 in the fourth quarter at home? Happy with the crowd sizes? It turns out coach Nolan could have been great!

Hoop Hades: That would be the OU program. Two significant cheating violations, one after the other? Remember OU homers laughing about other cheaters offering to forfeit wins? Yeah, well. Who's laughing now? How can the NCAA not drop a good-sized hammer on the refuse can of college hoops?

What of the new OSU uniforms? Who should really care. If it walks like a duck and defends like a duck.....

Nolan could have been great? Yeah, like another 4 years of Bush could have been great.

When does football start? Does autumn come after summer? Junie feels thermal.

Jay, You are silly. This team is much better off. Have you been to a game? BOUGHT a ticket.. nope... so, once again, no one cares about your opinion. Build Nolan a statue at TU, even though he never got past the first round of the NCAA tourney while at 11th & Harvard.

Jay Cronley has the nerve to call others "annonymouse eels" even though he spews from the mouth, or computer, trash that he knows zero about. I'm right here Jay, ummm.. sorry.. I MEANT Picker. Would you like my number to call and discuss. Only person hiding is you. Go back to your other column and talk about the weather or your dog. Leave the sports to folks, such as Sittler, who have a clue and aren't stuck in the "1982 polka dot tie era".

What is your opinion on Marion Jones? Should we give her gold medals back?

Go Shock!

We have children going to bed hungry but now OSU proudly has new uniforms which could result in 48 different ensembles. Can we agree that OSU's quest for [fill in this space] is a total waste and that we still need priorities?

LOL. There will always be hungry children. The OSU uniform budget would never be spent on free lunches. That's a federally funded public school program! They just trying to come up with a story to keep the media busy, dummy.

Maybe Nolan should take over the OU basketball program!?

I'm shocked!
Hey, I'll call you.

I agree picker. It was not Nolan's fault. He did not have players that fit his style (WNBA did not help). Seven points in 4 quarter is ridiculous. Why was Liz sitting on the bench at the end of game? I think one thing that hurts womens BB is they play here and then in Europe. They cannot focus on one style of BB and get better at it.

If he didn't have the right players, then he should blame the GM, oh wait.. who was that?
The Picker (last year)
Gene-o, you're due, who do you like in the Haskell Sunday?
But What Do I Know? (last year)
I don't understand why so many are so upset with Nolan. He promised 40 minutes of hell and that's exactly what he gave us.

The sooner the shock is gone the better. Be rid of Nolan and nthe rest of the trash. Dump it all.

Is it professional athlete jealousy or is it just women ????

Stop Shock....

Why do you want to run them outta town, KD(Kevin Durant) came up the road to support them & the very next day a Tulsa reporter or a conclave of Tulsa beat writers spinning around in chairs agree to write "Stop Shock"....

Nolan sucked as a Womens' coach because he a man's coach, women can't play the way men do but Nolan failed to understand that in his own mind & because of that, he failed & he with the team HE created through trades & cuts of his decision making, the Tulsa WNBA team has to be totally rebuilt....

The Shock now have the correct decision making personnel in place & progress will be seen immediately.... I believe in them & I want the women to succeed in Tulsa, too bad the Tulsa World assembly of professional sportswriters doesn't feel the same....

Thumbs up! TW writers must have never been around women's sports. They require a completely different coaching style and team chemistry is extremely important. Nolan's revolving door works fine in the NBA/NFL where everyone is a superstar (sarcasm off).

I have no dog in your impassioned, Nolan or no hunt (could care less, either way) but I'd love to hear you expand upon these "anonymous eels" that you refer to.

Coming from you, the anonymous part is what I really find intriguing.

Mr. Picker, I've got to go with Shackleford as the race fits and the training looks good. I'm going to box him with Coil and Ruler on Ice.
What do you think???????

You people can keep on crackin' on the picker all you want. All I know is I've been lookin' forward to the Thursday Tulsa World for over 20 years now.... probably more than that. His insights are great and he doesn't care about you beating up on his opinions. I do have to say though.... I've won an awful lot of money by going the other way on his picks. Still he has an extremely great style of writing and your beating on him proves that and gives him what he wants. Ask yourself this... if he's so lousy in his opinions, why are you reading his blogs and why has he sold so many newpapers for so long??? Keep it coming Picker. Can't wait to have you make me mad about what you're going to have to say about my Sooners. National Champs? I hate it when everybody predicts that.
foulshot (last year)
u-68 yes. Both Nolan and George would be (and have been) miles better than the other. The current ownership in both places has no clue.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
