Seeding will not be at stake when Oklahoma State plays a men’s basketball regular season finale Saturday at Kansas State.
Win or lose, OSU is locked into a No. 7 seed for the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City next week. The Cowboys will play No. 10 seed Texas Tech in an 8:30 p.m. Wednesday first-round game.
OSU has never lost a Big 12 Tournament game prior to the quarterfinal round. Can the Cowboys keep the streak alive? In the tourney opener, they face the only league team that they swept during the regular season.
OSU’s women’s team, which has won two consecutive games, still is in the hunt for a first-round bye.
The top six teams in the standings get byes. With one regular season game remaining, the Cowgirls are in a sixth-place tie with Kansas and Texas.
On Saturday, OSU hosts last-place Missouri, Texas hosts defending national champion Texas A&M and Kansas plays at Oklahoma.
