Cowboys Play Appreciation Game

I wrote a story in today's Tulsa World about four Oklahoma State students who survived a preseason tryout to join the basketball team as walk-ons.
Because the Cowboys qualified for the NCAA Tournament, the walk-ons get to go along for the ride.
So, do those guys "owe" scholarship players like Byron Eaton for a trip to Dayton?
"I wouldn’t say they owe me," Eaton said. "Those guys definitely helped me out this season, pushing me in practice and talking to me when I was down and doing little things like that."
Eaton said maybe he owes the walk-ons. Or maybe they are even.
Asked if the walk-ons were any help in getting OSU to the NCCA Tournament, assistant coach Chris Ferguson said, "That’s an understatement. They have been incredible. Great attitude. Work ethic. Good teammates. They have been a blessing. They have really helped us out in practice, especially with our numbers being down."
Because the walk-ons are in the NCAA Tournament, they had to cancel spring break trips.
"It’s all worth it," Ferguson said. "Trust me."
