Delay of game

Leftovers from the 72-minute halftime rain delay at Saturday night's Oklahoma-Chattanooga game...
* Waiting for the storm to pass was one inconvenience, having to sit through the second half of that debacle of a game was another. And far worse.
* Most entertaining thing seen during the delay: Kids taking a running start from a stadium exit ramp and diving into standing water on the field. Coolest slip n slide ever.
* Consider these were kids and those were some of the most threatening bolts of lightning I can ever remember seeing, make that "most disturbing thing seen."
* From OU athletic director Joe Castiglione: No, cancelling the second half was never an option. And no, neither was a second half running clock.
* Sam Bradford said he played a little locker room catch to stay loose.
* I stayed loose by visiting the Gomer Jones Medical Facility for an injury report on fans. Didn't seem to be much activity in there, except for paranoid security personnel who referred the hard-hitting question, "You guys been busy down here?" to the OU PR department.
* Good thing the fans did a better job keeping their wits about them.
