Did Irish have eyes on Stoops? Meyer?

Here's an interesting twist on the national championship...
According to the Notre Dame football blog Irish Band of Brothers, Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick called Bob Stoops Nov. 24, or two days after Oklahoma had whipsawed Texas Tech, and offered him Charlie Weis' job. Stoops declined.
Then, again according to the blog, Swarbrick contacted Florida coach Urban Meyer, only to be told Meyer wouldn't be interested in discussing the position until after the SEC championship.
The only thing we know for certain is Weis somehow got to stay on in South Bend, while Stoops and Meyer coached their teams to Miami. Oh, and that Meyer's dream job remains Notre Dame, something he said on Florida radio station WQAM the other day.
I'm not even sure who's behind Irish Band of Brothers, so you might take their assertions with the proper grain of salt. Interesting stuff nonetheless.
