Does Jerry Really Want a Strong Coach

One has to wonder if Jerry Jones really wants a strong head coach.
His current list of head coach possibles does not put fear into the rest of the league or confidence among Dallas fans.
It would appear Jones is tired of playing second-fiddle to his coach, for the second time in his career as the Dallas owner, and he doesn't like it now anymore than he did back in the 1990s.
If the Cowboys are his toy, and apparently they are, then Jones doesn't want to share anymore.
The Bill Parcells experiment did not work. Parcells had a few years to get the Cowboys back into the Super Bowl and he didn't. Heck, he didn't even win a playoff game.
At least Jimmy Johnson built a team that would win three Super Bowls.
But Jones didn't like Johnson getting the credit and he sure didn't like sharing the spotlight with Parcells.
So, Dallas, which actually has a decent base of player talent, doesn't appear any closer to the Super Bowl now than it did when Parcells came to town.
One has to wonder what direction Jones wants to take.
It appears he favors hiring a coach that will take a backseat to the owners' huge ego.
The next coach may be in for a short stay.
The Cowboys under Jones went through a meteoric rise right after he bought the team and hired Johnson from the University of Miami.
The Cowboys then went through a long, painful slide down the ladder in the NFL. It has been more than a decade since they won a playoff game.
The Cowboys have been to eight Super Bowls. One has to wonder if there will be anymore as long as Jones owns the team.
