Doesn't appear OU-Texas is going anywhere... yet

Bob Stoops' off-the-cuff comment (it was off-the-cuff, wasn't it?) about OU-Texas going home-and-home turned some heads. For a coach accustomed to toeing the company line when it came to OU-Texas locale to toss that out during his press conference... Seemed reasonable to suspect Stoops knew something we didn't.

Or not. Apparently he really was just thinking aloud.

Austin American-Statesman columnist Kirk Bohls tracked down the two athletic directors for comments. Here's what OU's Joe Castiglione told him: "I don't think anyone can speak in absolutes, but I will tell you there's little to no interest in exploring a home-and-home arrangement. And at this point in time, you can probably scratch out 'the little.' There are no discussions and no plans for discussions."

"This game is going to be at the Cotton Bowl for a long time," Texas AD DeLoss Dodds said. "We've got a great setup there with the State Fair, and everybody loves the tradition."

So there you have it. The game's staying put... at least until 2015, when the current agreement expires. Then Jerry Jones throws so much money at Castiglione and Dodds that even Boone Pickens' jaw drops, and it's off to Jerry World.

Just a hunch, anyway.
