'Dr. Lou' delivers pre-Bedlam pep talk to Cowboys

During halftime of Thursday’s Texas A&M-Texas telecast, ESPN college football analyst Lou Holtz directed his “Dr. Lou” pep talk to the Oklahoma State team.

“It won’t be easy to beat Oklahoma, but we can and we will,” Holtz said while clad in OSU gear. “Last year, all we had to do was beat Oklahoma to go to a BCS bowl. We got beat (27-0). From that football team, we only had two starters coming back on offense and only three on defense. Nobody gave us a chance to win. We were picked to finish next to last (in the Big 12 South). We weren’t even in the top 45 teams in the country (during the) preseason.

“And yet all our goals are still alive. We win today and we win our division championship. We win next week, we win the conference championship and we’re still alive for the national championship with a 12-1 record. Great players make great plays in great games. . . . Of all the things written or said by man, the saddest words are ‘could have been.’ When this game is over, have absolutely no regrets. . . . I wanted to play this game early in the morning. Why? So we’d have longer to celebrate. Now let’s go whip Oklahoma.”

The most painful schtick in a vast wasteland. This and the Judge Judy spiel belong in a dumpster with the laugh tracks from a 70's sitcom. But, that's just me.

Nice, I think OSU has been playing all season with the underdog mentality. Saturday should be one heck of a game and at least the state of Oklahoma will be deciding the outcome instead of Texas.

"Dr. Lou" is always enjoyable! He'll need to be a psychiatrist for the OSU faithful on Sunday after OU slaps a loss on 'em.......again.

I saw the telecast last night and it was a little surreal. I'm with Loki in that I really didn't see the point of it all.

Dr.Lou doesn't have a clue.He needs a clown nose & fright wig.Same for Corso.Since last years OSU team lost 27-0 to OU,maybe its good that they only have 2 starters on offense & 3 on defense coming back.Still looking for the name of that sportswriter who picked OSU last in Big 12 South.I want to send him a brochure for a truck driving school.

Lou Holtz is an idiot. This morning on ESPN's college game day, he said of all the 1 loss teams that will lose Saturday, OSU didn't stand a chance against ou. What a nut case.

Well Lou was right. You still spell it lOSUr.

OSUNDN-"Lou Holtz is an idiot." Really. I think you might do well to go back and check that score again, m'man! Lee was the idiot. Maybe the chokes will qualify for the toilet bowl, but it's not televised. Now we can focus again on the REAL team in this state!
