Draft Winners and Losers

The biggest winner in the NFL draft?

That's an easy one. The public. The NFL Channel went head-to-head with the uppity self-proclaimed experts of ESPN on the draft and came out far the best. There's nothing about the NFL that ESPN does better than the NFL channel. The ESPN blabbermouths like Can of Corn Berman think that they are heaven's gift to the lowly sports fan. Guess what. They're not. Flip to the NFL channel for anything connected with the pro league and you'll be better for it.

The losers?

Another easy one: The "experts."

There aren't enough quote marks in the world to inflict sufficient sarcasm on these draft """""experts""""".

ESPN clowns have been inventing jobs for years, the NCAA Brackets Beanheads, the draft gurus. Our Aunt Gertie could have handicapped the draft better. Kiper was so far off, his hair started thinning in front.

One final question: Who has been recruiting all the OU players who in recent years have been deemed not suitable for the NFL?

Regarding OU...the same ones that have been recruiting recently are the ones who recruited Sam Bradford, Jermaine Grisham, Gerald McCoy, Adrian Peterson, Roy Williams, Jamaal Brown, Mark Clayton, Davin Joseph....

Considering that last quote by the picker, I would guess that he must work as an expert for ESPN when he isn't writing a column in the TW complaining about anonymity on the Internet......

Roy Williams? What happened to him?
Gerald McCoy was mentioned yesterday as one of the biggest flops of his draft.
Sam Bradford? 2-12?
The questions stands taller, where are the good OU players in the NFL?

Curtis Loftin's not doing bad.

Some guy named adrian peterson got a fumble away from the super bowl.

Quite a few linemen.

Um, no. Sam was only 1-3 this year, he was injured and didn't play the rest of season. However, no matter who the QB is, without protection and hands to throw to, they are going to look bad. Get him so good team mates to play with and he will shine!

When you get drafted by a team without an Offensive Line, how do you expect Sam Bradford to be any better than that...

More excuses than performances down there.

Where are the big time OU NFL prospects/players?

Their top draft pick is coming back for another year. That's one. OU lost a lot of players from this class for various reasons, they were a young team last season and will be young again this year. Injuries also have played a part in draft position too (Broyles and Lewis). Having a lot of kids drafted doesn't always mean a NC team either. OU had 3 of 4 first picks recently, and didnt play for the NC.
And give Sam a break, he really needs more help around him.

Agree with comments about "experts" and inventing jobs. Disagree about Bradford, I still think he's going to succeed. Remember Aikman's early years before the Herschel Walker trade? Painful!

Rant on Picker, I tuned out ESPN years ago. Shahiggidy fahiggady rhyme a dime dingo.

Bradford is on the clock this year. It's time to get something done.

Picker learned everything he knows from Jim Traber.

Who is that?

A guy on the Picker's favorite sports talk radio station.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
