ESPN HITS A GRAND-SLAM HOMER!
Published: 4/3/2009 2:50 PM
Last Modified: 4/3/2009 2:50 PM

As correctly called by the Picks for years, ESPN has needed to get its uppity anchor jokers out of Connecticut and have a look around.

Well, our hopes and wishes and desires have been answered!

ESPN is opening an LA office!

It is running a Sportscenter show from near Hollyweird!

That show will air nightly at midnight central time, when dopes comprise the majority of the audience.

Wait!

It gets better. Much better. It gets....beautiful.

Neil Everett is being boxed and shipped to Sillyville
to co-anchor the middle of the night show!

That's right, the sappiest anchor in the history of sports is out of our prime time! This guy is/was the sports equivalent of George Carlin's hippie-dippy weather man, the kind of character who tries so hard to be pertinent, he's unintentionally funny.

But why stop in LA?

Neil Everett would be great for a Guam bureau.

Now the title of Worst Anchor Imaginable hangs awkwardly on the baffled head of one Cindy Brunson, who sounds like the female version of Ted Baxter, the
Mary Tyler Moore news anchor who sounded fictional.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
