Early lines on openers: OSU favored by 6, TU by 14, OU by 25

Oddsmaker Danny Sheridan has established Oklahoma State as a six-point favorite over Georgia.

In the first game played in completely renovated Boone Pickens Stadium, the Cowboys and Bulldogs collide in an ABC-televised showdown on Sept. 5.

Sheridan also set a line for the Sept. 4 Tulsa-Tulane contest (Golden Hurricane by 14) and the Sept. 5 Oklahoma-BYU clash (Sooners by 25).

I love my Sooners, but 25? I don't know about that for the first game of the season.

I would take it though!!

BOOMER SOONER!

You know Roastbeef, I was thinking that same thing but I didn't want it to come across as an OSU fan talking smack.

BYU is still a top 25 ranked team and it's on a neutral site along with it being the first game of the season.

The bigger thing is that I know OU can beat them by 25 but I don't think Coach Stoops would do it. I think with it being the first game of the season and OOC, he'll keep it pretty vanilla and coast to the finish line. I'd say a 17 to 21 point victory.

OU has a history of passing teams upsetting them early in the season....

Great OU d-line, great OU linebackers, just toss the ball over them....Does BYU know how to throw the ball ???? I would think so....

OU bu 25, no way....but if they do, I'll be casually obnoxious & just know I knew they would....
I'm in agreeance with all of you. I think OU will win but at the most 9 points, not 25. And with the fact that OU's defense struggles with passing teams, 25 seems to be a stretch. Do you think there's insider knowledge of something that we're not aware of? Opening day for the state of Oklahoma will be an exciting and interesting one.

"I don't think Coach Stoops would do it."

Do you not remember the OU/A&M game in 2003? Does 77-0 ring a bell? Coach Stoops has no morals and ABSOLUTELY no integrity for the game. He thinks he is god in that part of the state.

Rampoke, I do remember that game. The starters were out by the third quarter.

If I'm a coach I'm not going to tell kids who normally ride the bench to fall on the ball. They practice just as hard as any of the starters and see zero limelight.

If they get a chance to finally see the field in front of their families who paid for a ticket just in case they might get just one play, I say try your hardest to make it memorable. You never know if you're going to get another opportunity.
