Educated guess: Johnson practices, Blatnick doesn’t

After speaking with various sources, this is my educated guess: When Oklahoma State opens preseason camp with Friday’s 8:30 a.m. practice session, I expect to see junior safety Victor Johnson on the field. I do not expect junior defensive tackle Jamie Blatnick to be involved before Tuesday at the earliest.

Blatnick has been charged with a felony – assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Johnson has been charged with marijuana possession and DUI. Both are significant members of the Cowboy defense.

Various sources indicate that Johnson’s situation may be resolved soon, and that Blatnick’s charge might be reduced. Will Johnson or Blatnick be suspended from any games? Only coach Mike Gundy can answer that, and we probably won’t get an answer for several more days.

I wish booner would decide what punishment if any for these boys. We need them on the field

Beside the grueling workout punishments they are already going to receive for a long while, my guess is that Johnson misses anywhere from 1 to 3 games and Blatnick misses anywhere from 3 to 6.

I would agree those number are fair. However I would add they cannot have anything to do with the team while suspended. No practices, workouts etc. This would should them what they are about to lose if they continue to get arrested

I know Tramel is educated but have doubts on Haiston.....

@ TMS: I've listened to both Bill and Jimmie on the radio and have been impressed with both their research, knowledge, and candor. They are both very articulate and I feel fortunate that they work in Tulsa.

Now, I've written a few critical responses to some of Mr. Haisten's articles in the past. But in all fairness, I believe that Bill has learned to work with Coach Gundy effectively - even if he doesn't like the way he operates. At least this year we haven't had to listen to his whining of closed practices - but it's still early in the season.
