Expect The Unexpected in Waco

The OSU basketball team is coming to an interesting intersection in Waco. The Cowboys have won five consecutive games and lost 14 consecutive road games. If you think you know what will happen when the Cowboys play Tuesday at Baylor then you may be fooling yourself because results so far have been all over the map.
A team with OSU's roster makeup is liable to have shocking lows (four double-digit defeats) and unexpected highs (a blowout of Texas Tech). Nothing should surprise you about the Cowboys, including winning by only nine points against first-year NAIA program Rogers State.
OSU should be good enough in any year to wallop an NAIA program at home. But consider this: OSU entered this season with a roster of players who had a collective eight years of Division I experience. Rogers State, thanks to six major college transfers, entered this season with a roster of players who had a collective 10 years of Division I experience.
Have the Cowboys grown up quickly enough to win a Big 12 road game? I'll let you know about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Good comments! They shed some light on the inconsistency of the OSU men's bb team. I know they are much younger than several of their opponents. T Tech had men, aged 26, playing for them. That's almost a pro team. I believe that the OSU team has the players and coaches to have a tremendous season but their inexperience could undermine their season. It is fun to watch! I believe that they will win, as long as they believe that they can IF they work hard the whole game. Youth often thinks that the game is won and rejoices too soon. Just because you are ahead doesn't mean you will win if there is time left on the clock and the other team wants it more.
