First of Numerous Locks of the Year
Published: 4/5/2010 5:30 PM
Last Modified: 4/5/2010 5:32 PM

The lock pick here is Texas minus 3 points over OU in the Cotton Bowl in October.

What's the point in letting the rest of the groupies get in on the glory later.

The is the second earliest lock in the history of the Picks.

The earliest was when we predicted Tiger was done after he got married.

The new Texas quarterback was terrific in the just-completed spring game. This year's OU team doesn't look quite as good as last year's OU team, it's that simple. Texas by 9.

Will Sooner cheerleaders still be fine with the Stoops approach after yet another one of these losses to Texas, and more of the same, overall? Just asking.

Concerning the Good 'Ol Boys Golf Masters Tournament and Caviar Fest that starts Thursday, we don't see Tiger finishing in the top ten. We predict that he will be one under par going to the seventh hole of his opening round, when three or his former "girlfriends" show up behind the green and flash him big smiles. Something like that. Rich drunk frat guys as well as the nation's CEO elite will cheer Tiger heartily, to no avail.

I'd think the "lock of the year" would be Donovan McNabb being a bust at Washington, meaning Andy Reid made the smartest decision of the 2010 NFL season.

No one trades their #1 QB for two draft picks to a team in the same division without knowing something.

"...when three or his former "girlfriends" show up behind the green and flash him big smiles. Something like that."

Haha, ok. That was pretty funny.

On another note, I think Duke should switch their team name from the "Blue Devils" to the "Floppers." They could have a trout as a mascot and everytime he is barely touched by a camera man, cheerleader, or fan, he has to hit the deck and start squirming around.

Re: New Texas QB. A wise man once said..."His future will be a legitimate matter of reasonable discussion until somebody who weighs 250 and runs like the wind plants him." I can't remember who said that, but it seems appropriate concerning the UTQB.

Mr. Picker,
You're telling us not to base Bradford's predicted NFL future on one Pro Day. Yet, you're telling us that we should assume Gilbert will be a great QB simply because of one Spring Game in which you can't even touch the QB. I'd say that's being a bit hypocritical. We'll have to see how Gilbert plays in the regular season to see how good and durable he is.

Uh, no, we saw him play in a bowl game, remember? The kid looks like a stud. I think he could take the head off a few OU linebackers.

This is what I like, classic Picker. Masters description right on, the whole tourney is gross.

Mr. Picker, your next "Lock" has got to be Eskendereya. WOW!!!

Wasn't Shipley 20 feet open on both TD passes that Gilbert threw? Didn't Gilbert turn the ball over in the final two possessions for Texas? I think Gilbert will be successful at Texas. However, let's see what he does next season when he's the starter.

BTW, Pick, I 100 percent agree with your commentary on the Masters.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He welcomes the competition.
