Football Still the King

Football remains America's favorite sport but the race to be No. 2 has been changing in recent years.
Traditionally, it was football, baseball and basketball among the top three.
However, in recent years things have been changing with NASCAR making a move in television ratings right behind the NFL (and above college football).
However, in a recent Esquire magazine survey, mixed martial arts fighting finished second in popularity to football.
The most surprising part of the survey is that MMA was second in popularity among Esquire readers under 50. For those over 50, baseball was second. The under 50 readers voted basketball third as did over 50 readers.
It just goes to show that there is a changing appetite for sports in this country.
