Football stats and frog sushi?

Fun and games with the latest batch of stats on ncaasports.com:
--The teams (Arizona State, Oklahoma) who rank 1-2 nationally in run defense have something in common. They both padded their stats by playing Idaho State, one of the least-capable squads ever to grace Owen Field.
Idaho State is in the same state as Boise State, but is a planet away from a program standpoint.
--Miami, Ohio, has played two games and has yet to score a point. Nevada is scoreless after one game. Florida International has scored three points this season.
They are the only teams in Division I (don't you hate the FBS label?) who have yet to locate the end zone. Maybe Miami, Ohio, would have scored a point or seven if not for throwing a nation-leading six interceptions.
--Whatever happened to former OSU defensive coordinator Tim Beckman? The Toledo head coach is all of a sudden an offensive genius. His quarterback, Aaron Opelt, has two of the top four total offense games in Division I this season.
--This is what you've gotta love about TU quarterback G.J. Kinne. He would rather eat frog sushi than throw an interception. When in doubt, he tucks the ball and runs. That's why TU is one of 21 interception-free Division I schools.
--College team that least needs a chain gang? Utah State, which is 0-of-12 on third down conversions. TCU is 1-of-11.
--Reasons to like OSU's chances for a lopsided victory? Rice ranks last nationally in passing yards allowed per game and points allowed.
Reason to think the Cowboys are their own worst enemies? Only three schools have been flagged more often than the Pokes.
--Oklahoma is known as a football state. Apparently, it's a throw-for-loss football state. OU and TU rank 1-2 nationally in tackles for losses.
