For golfers, No. 88 is a double snowman

Small world? Tulsa-based PGA Tour member Bo Van Pelt boarded a plane and was seated next to former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin in first class.
This shouldn’t have gone well. Van Pelt’s father, after all, was drafted by a rival NFL franchise, the Philadelphia Eagles, in 1967. But, because Bo’s career path led to him making eagles rather than suiting up for the Eagles, he and the Playmaker got along fine.
They got along so well, in fact, that Bo agreed to surrender his seat. Bo was in the correct seat, but one of Irvin’s buddies had a ticketed seat in the next row. Irvin asked if Bo would switch so he and the buddy could be seated next to each other.
“On one condition,” Van Pelt said.
Van Pelt said Irvin “kind of looked at me funny.”
But Irvin laughed when told that the one condition was this: Van Pelt identified himself as an Oklahoma State guy (he’s a former Cowboy golfer) and asked Irvin to keep an eye out for “my boy Dez Bryant,” alias the new No. 88 in Dallas.
