Ford Got the Most Out of His Cowboys

Oklahoma State's loss to Pitt in the second round of the NCAA Tournament was much like its season.
OSU coach Travis Ford got the absolute most out of his Cowboys.
Pitt is good. Really good. There isn't much more the Cowboys could have done in the 84-76 loss to Pitt.
It was a terrific game to watch and OSU put up as good of a fight as anyone could have expected.
That's the way OSU's season went, too.
Ford got as much out of his Cowboys as anyone could have expected.
This was a team that plays in the big, tough, physical Big 12 without any kind of interiior presence.
OSU played virtually all of its games with a lineup of players 6-foot-6 and under.
To have finished tied for fourth in the Big 12, and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament, was more than any optimistic OSU fan should have expected this season.
Ford did a great job of getting this team to overachieve.
It was a very encouraging first season for Ford and gives hope to OSU fans that the Cowboys are definitely on their way back to the national college basketball stage.

Give Eaton some credit too. Even Ford said it, in most games at the end of the season he would hand the ball to Eaton and say "Go win it."

As much hope as Ford has brought, and I never thought I would say this, I don't know how good we will be next year, at least at first, without Byron Eaton. Still, you have to wonder, how much of this was Eaton and how much was Ford? Regardless, I think it appropriate to feel optimistic at the prospect of Ford at the helm(possibly a little scary too, if Gillespie doesn't get Kentucky deep in the tournament next year and Ford does get us that far), and moved by Eaton's final flourish given all that he has been through having three coaches and multiple players leaving, most notably JamesOn Curry and Kenny Cooper (how different this program might be had just those two not left).

Congratulations to Coach Ford, and the Cowboy squad. It was truly a joy to watch them this season, to watch them enjoy playing (finally), and to handle adversity, and keep on playing until the end.

I too had hope when Coach Ford came to Stillwater that he could at least restore the players love of the game, never did I expect them to excell in the many ways that they did this year. There should be a trophy for most improved team nationally, and if there was, OSU is far and away the winner.

If you asked me at the beginning of the season if we were going to the NCAA touney I would have said "no way". Coach Ford has done a great job getting the most out of these players. I only hope he doesn't jump ship when Kentucky calls.
Great Job Coach Ford and all the players and assistants!!!
