Who are these people?

These are ten of the top 15 finishers in the Women's US Women's golf Open.

What are American young women doing, shopping?

And now, the real truth about the football schedules.

OU.

BYU: Bad start for Venables D. BYU has no D.
Idaho State: Please.
TU: Target practice.
At Miami: Many think trouble. No way. Miami has no O.
Baylor: Thin.
Texas: Same as last year, Tex wins here, loses later, OU goes.
At Kansas: M&M a great coach, but outmanned.
K-State: Snyder having a later-life crisis?
At Nebraska: Early Nov. trouble.
Aggies: One of biggest national flops continues flopping.
At Tech: Wild zebras.
OSU: 70-60.
Best record: 12-0.
Worst record: 10-2.
Likely: 11-1.

OSU.

Georgia: Elite or delete.
Houston: Letdown.
Rice: Meltdown:
Grambling: Scrimmage.
At Aggies: Who knows. Not easy. Health of Robinson is everything. Too much option dooms season.
Missouri: Nation's biggest downward reversal.
At Baylor: Baylor is still Baylor.
Texas: Mission Impossible.
At Iowa State: Snooze.
Tech: Another qb headed for private business world.
Colorado: Under-achiever.
At OU: Weather a factor in national showcase.

Best: 11-1.
Worst: 9-3.
Likely: 10-2.

TU.

At Tulane: Despite what is thought to be a tough schedule, six of TU's foes had losing records!
At New Mexico: Road trouble.
At OU: Mayday.
Sam Houston State: Home opener barely in Sept.
At Rice: 50-50.
Boise State: SRO.
At UTEP: 50-50.
SMU: Mystery team, mystery why it is so lousy.
Houston: 50-50.
East Carolina: 50-50.
At So. Miss: Not 50-50.
Memphis: 50-50.

Best: 8-4.
Worst: 6-6.
Likely: 7-5.

Mr. Picker, there are 47 women from Korea who belong to the LPGA and you may be familiar with three. The USGA could move the Open to Seoul to make it more convenient for the field. And . . . they wouldn't have to enforce the silly "English only" policy. On another note, TU is going to smash NM like last year and I think they'll give OU a contest in spite of your prediction. TU is improving in all areas.

Picker the 50-50's are like saying "the team with the most points on the board at the end of 4 quarters will win" thanks for the insight. Why don't you just flip a coin and make a decision.

I'm afraid it may be a tough start of the season given the new guys in the o and d lines and the schedule with our early road games and who we play on the road. All the buzz is about TU's skill players, but that won't matter if we are struggling blocking and tackling.

Texas is Mission Impossible for OSU...I don't necessarily think so.

OSU played them down to the wire last year in Austin. Not only is this game in Stillwater with the bulk of skill players returning with more experience but the D will be better as well.

If the Pokes build a 14 point lead in this one, I wouldn't count on watching them give it away like they have in past seasons.

This may be one of your best blogs yet. I understood it.

Gene, Gene, the wishful thinking machine: TU will give OU a game?

Maybe you were out of town when this happened, but TU lost the offensive co-ordinator that invented the system that put the locals on the map.

What do you consider "a game?"

OU could score 75, 80, Gene, sorry.

OSU beating Texas isn't wishful thinking?

When did it happen last, 1930?

OSU is getting a little full of itself, given the horror of recent defenses. This just in: Georgia is no gimmie.

OU and OSU are a smidgen of bad luck from having seasons turned upside-down. An injury to either starting quarterback, and suddenly, possible losses are everywhere. What's amazing is how infrequently the key quarterbacks have been hurt. The OSU quarterback seems particularly at risk, given Gundy's propensity to run the nutty option when there is no reason.

Rocket: It's the same story as it has been.

Big schools on TV all the time get the best players.

Mid-size schools need an angle.

And down through the years, TU has had some great passing angles. Schools without superior depth can't play it straight and beat bigger schools consistently.

TU has been brilliant using the pass and creative pass-happy offenses to elevate itself above the masses. That's why this year is so crucial. Was it offensive co-ordinator Gus? Or was it the head coach?

This fall, we see.

Mr. Picker, all you need do to understand the Gus System is buy his book. Guess what . . . Herb has an autographed copy. Its the head coach.

Pick, there are so many flaws in your argument about OSU/Texas that make me wonder how you even have ANY JOB as a sports writer.

1. OSU hasn't beaten Texas since 1930: Obviously an exaggeration but either way, what does that have to do with THIS YEAR? More depth, more experience, better coaching. Keep your argument in present tense.

2. OSU is getting a little full of itself, given the horror of recent defenses: Once again, this year is not last year or any other year. Keep up.

3. An injury to either starting quarterback, and suddenly, possible losses are everywhere: This is the worst of them all! Which team doesn't this apply to?! Do you think Texas is the same without Colt McCoy? How about Florida without Tim Tebow? Both run just as much as Zac does. Check the stats. On top of that, Zac has added 20 pounds to his frame to help lessen the risk of injury. I think the Power Conference coaches of teams in the pre-season Top 10 know a bit more than a blog writer from Tulsa, OK.

Georgia isn't a gimmie but you still picked OSU to win...we'll see if that still holds true on Sept. 5th.

Rocketman, you are delusional. We lost that game on very poor play calling in clutch situations-- having the wrong personel on the field for kickoffs and getting cute in the redzone by running wildcat three times in a row and having your third string passer throw for the end zone instead of the second highest rated QB in college FB. Our other problem? Bad open field tackling of their recievers by our secondary.

Our D line gobbled up their Powerful SEC O-line and runningback allowing only a total of 50 yards on the ground. Meanwhile, Arkansas's mighty SEC defense allowed us to pick up 184 yards on the ground and 524 yards overall. Give me a freakin' break.

OKC SBH, You're right, those plays were horrendous.

It's pretty simple if you're an underdog down by somebody's goal, throw the stinking football.
CJP (4 years ago)
We were the better team than Arkansas. Don't give me that underdog garbage during that game.
The Picker (4 years ago)
Gene the competing machine, I'll give you TU and 34 for a grilled cheese.
Gene M (4 years ago)
Mr. Picker, if you'll add a libation of my choice, you got it! Man . . . this is easy.
SUEA (4 years ago)
CPJ and SBH - you lost the game. (PERIOD).....you were NOT better than Arkansas.....Porkers 30-23 means you are losers, Whine-a-canes......
