Forget Basketball

Who cares about basketball at the moment.
As reported here a thousand times, the Thunder doesn't have enough punch inside to win it all.
NC State will take out KU, leaving us with strangers to watch.
The Kentucky guys will go right from their last game to the airport and the NBA.
The cute little upsets in the first couple of rounds meant nothing.
Football has substance.
According to a story in this newspaper, there is big news from TU: the quarterback will no longer dominate the show. What this means is TU could be in big trouble because football is all about the quarterback. The quarterback is why OU is in the top ten, period. The quarterback is why OSU will be hard pressed to be in the top 15. The quarterback is why Arkansas is a major player again. If TU doesn't have a big star at quarterback, mayhem lurks.

You mean cute like they have a chance to win and go on rather than winning votes in a beauty contest?
You mean substance like 21-0 BCS rematch? Or do you prefer the substance sitting in the bottom of the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl?

Cute like: The team that beat Missouri losing by 100 the next game. Cute like: Kentucky graduating its walk-ons. Cute like the same teams winning every year. Boring.

Perhaps they intend to focus on receivers!!!

Hard to believe that TU's quarterback for next season won't be of all conference star quality considering the abundance of talent they have to chose from and a coach who has excelled at maximizing that talent.

The TU team and coach may be in trouble if they permanently change to this dull offense, because TU fans love the wide-open, imaginative, creative offenses of the past. Will this hurt the Hurricane on the recruiting trail? High quality quarterbacks and wide receivers have been attracted to TU because of the high scoring, exciting offense.
The TU teams of the past, having weak defenses, have been able to win by out-scoring their opponents. Will our defense be good enough this year to compensate for a much lower scoring team?

Forget basketball, because baseball is almost here.

T.U. needs a baseball team.

Notas, does it ever. And the little schools having success in this year's tournament prove it can be done.
The odds on Scott Sutton being offered the job?
Sounds less than 50-50, doesn't it.
To the point, exactly what has he done to warrant the job?
Cardfan, how do you feel watching Pujols hitting them over palm trees?
Cardinalsfan

He was great when he was here, but no way we should of hamstrung the franchise to pay him like the Angels did. Hate to lose him, but we will be fine this year without him.
Funny how that much money brings out the real you, instead of the persona you cultivate.

Lance, somebody said the former I-State guy now at So Miss is a consideration. Since being observed guzzling suds with coeds, he seems to have thought better of that side of life.
Anybody notice how spoiled rotten the Thunder looked last night, losing to an average Utah?
We were the first to tell you many things while the homers were kissing up, namely that the Perkins trade looked debatable from the outset. Cheerleaders say he does other things than score. Since he averages 4 points a game, he needs to do something else. Only what? Last night, the Thunder was obliterated in the paint, outscored 20 or so. Now the Thunder signs Laker outcast Fisher. Who couldn't cover a pot of beans. Is panic setting in? This team needs an inside scoring threat. Period. And Durant and Westbrook need to get back to being humble.

Getting back to the TU job, it looks like such an important hire, it could be a while before anybody is landed.
