Future RB depth

Guthrie High School athlete Kye Staley did commit to Oklahoma State on Tuesday afternoon. Staley is expected to get a look at running back when the Cowboys open preseason practice next August.
The Cowboys also are still looking to add another top-notch high school running back in this year's recruiting class. Cyrus Gray of DeSoto, Texas, and Jeremy Bibb of Jersey Village High School in Houston are two of OSU's top targets at the position.
What does this mean in regards to the prospect flavor of the moment, Emmanuel Moody? Moody announced last week he is leaving USC and looking to transfer. OSU is among four schools Moody reportedly is looking at.
Moody left USC because the Trojans were overloaded at tailback. If (and that's a big if) Moody were to enroll at OSU, he would join a crowded situation at tailback. Keith Toston will be a junior next year. Kendall Hunter is a first-year freshman on this year's team. There already has been some quiet comparisons between Hunter and Dantrell Savage.
Toss in Staley and possibly either Gray or Bibb, and the Cowboys have four quality candidates at tailback for next year. If Moody wants to join, that will make it a handful. Moody is a tremendous talent. But talent is not something the Cowboys are lacking at tailback, now or in the future.

Nice blog, however you failed to mention Travis Miller is also a RB recruit for '08.

Your point is flawed. OSU will have a Junior (Toston) and a Sophmore (Hunter) next year, along with the Freshman recruits. Maybe OSU gets 2 freshman, maybe 3. But that puts the competition at 4 or 5, with Freshman obviously behind the curve. If you ask me, Moody would be an absolute blessing for OSU by giving them another player with experience for 2008. If he doesn't come to OSU, the only players we have returning with experience are Toston and (possibly, assuming he plays this year) Hunter. That's not a lot of competition if you ask me. Nothing compared to the stable of 10 All Americans in USC's depth chart.
