The Big 12 doesn't play a championship game.

It has a glorified scrimmage.

The Big 12 North is a laughing stock. Big 12 South teams have won the last five exercises in futility by a combined score of 233-51.

Get a load of the current state of the Big 12 North.

Missouri is so horrendous, the ESPN TV crew spent the first half making sport of the Tigers versus Texas, it was that or doze off: would Missouri get to mid-field? The home team was so awful, the network switched off the game in the second half. The Missouri defense is so badly coached, it barely knows where to stand. The highlight was a Mo defender getting into a screaming match with a coach.

The OU-KU game was about as one-sided. Bubble Screen U. manhandled the Jawhawks. The KU fans probably wouldn't mind if the basketball team beat up the football team all over again.

It turns out the Nebraska coach is a hot-head who talks a better game than he plays. Nebraska had eight turnovers against Iowa State, talk about slow learners. It has given away two games.

The Colorado coach and a columnist for the Oklahoma City newspaper predicted big things for the Buffs this year. Maybe they could switch jobs.

Iowa State and Kansas State have more guts than talent.

At the moment, K-State has the inside track to play Texas in the title scrimmage.

And how many tickets can we get you for that one?

Grandpappy Snyder is already the best coach in the most embarrassing division in college football.

"At the moment, K-State has the inside track to play Texas in the title scrimmage."

So by that sentence I take it that you are picking Texas over OSU? Didn't you say something last week about Texas losing in the next two weeks? "A lock of two decades" or something like that? Don't count the Pokes out just yet, Pick.

Also, can anyone make sense of Texas Tech and Texas A&M? Tech destroys a north team last week while A&M gets destroyed by one. Then, the following week A&M destroys Tech....huh? I think the Big 12 has become the Twilight Zone of college football.

It must be time to turn our attention to the Breeder's Cup?

I believe his ultimate lock prediction, or whatever he called it, was Neb. beating OU.  Still goin with that Pick?

With 8 turnovers Nebraska gave the game away. Blame the coaches. When all you need is a field goal and you are in the red zone run 3 times into the middle and kick it!

The winner of the OU-Texas game will have the inside track to the Big 12 South Title. However, the following might occur: Texas wins all its games, except for one game at OSU. OU wins out. OSU's only league loss is to OU. It would be a three way tie atop the Big 12 South. In this case, Texas would go to the Big 12 Title Game, since they would have the higher BCS ranking.

Glenn, that is assuming that OU won't lose again. If they do, OSU will have the inside track if they beat Texas this weekend.

Picker is half right anyway. The Big 12 in general is as bad as it has ever been. How do you explain these three scores: Tx A&M 52 TT 30, KState 62 A&M 20?(close), and TT 66 KState 14??
Dash Riprock (3 years ago)
dcood,I agree, how could anyone explain those games? It might be easier if they had been close, but 32, 42 and 52 point differences just show how very average all but a couple of teams in the Big 12 are.

Question: Could there be anymore orange in a stadium than what we will see Saturday night with the burnt orange of Texas, the BOLD orange of Pokie State and lest we forget, the orange hunting gear and matching hats complete with ear flaps that OSU fans routinely wear? Gotta qualify as an 'orange-out' in anybody's book.
MexiMike (3 years ago)
Dash, I've been a season ticket holder for a while and I have no clue what you are talking about when referring to "orange hunting gear and matching hats." Quite an imagination you have.

Unfortunately, plan to see some black in the stadium. Some facebook reject started a "Blackout Texas!" group and has about 5,000 kids joined. So now you'll have 50,000+ people wearing orange and 5,000 wearing black...wow, nice "balck out." Idiots.

"Glenn, that is assuming that OU won't lose again. If they do, OSU will have the inside track if they beat Texas this weekend." That is correct.

There isn't a single team in the Big 12 North that is any good. The only teams in the Big 12 that are any good this year are Texas, OU, and OSU. So, it's currently the Big 3 Plus 9, not the Big 12.

I'll be attending the OU-Kansas State game. However, the blackout idea for the OSU-Texas game is quite dumb, considering that everyone else at the stadium will be wearing orange.

You got a problem with hunters, Dash?????
MexiMike (3 years ago)
Glenn, yeah, I'd say the only game that OU has to "worry" about would be Tortilla Tech. Even that may be a stretch at this point, though.

Yes, the Black Out idea is very dumb. But whatever. As long as the stadium is packed and people are screaming, I'll take it.

Biggest game in a while in Stillwater... and the aggies screw it up--'black out' what?? Vegas boys seem to think horns will roll. Tend to be in agreement.
The Picker (3 years ago)
dcood, you're exactly right, Vegas loves Texas to pretty much obliterate Oklahoma State.

This could be the biggest regular season game in Texas history -- one game for a national title  berth, pretty straight forward.

OSU without two of its three best offensive players?

Talk about a stretch.

If anybody wants K-State over Nebraska, you know where to find us. Acually, the fact that Nebraska had eight turnovers and only lost to Iowa State by two suggests that the worst team won.

Absolutely, 100 percent yes, we'll take Nebraska plus the points with OU.

Dash Riprock (3 years ago)
Ken7, not unless they are in the stadium, dressed as hunters.
scottybegood (3 years ago)
OU glenn. Ou is 4-3, with the three wins comming over Idaho st,Tulsa,Baylor and you call that good? The whole little 12 is poor at best.
MexiMike (3 years ago)
Pick, OSU has been playing without two of it's best three players for weeks now and have done nothing but win with the same offensive numbers being put up. Granted, these teams have not been UT quality but I think it has been shown that other players are successfully showing up in Dez and Hunter's absences.

What happened to your lock that Texas was going to lose to either Mizzou or OSU?

You owning up to your word? Now that's a stretch.
juanstah (3 years ago)
But...Nebraska's back, and we'd better "run" right Pick?
The Picker (3 years ago)
Juanstah: Better hold off until your Sooners get out of Lincoln with all their senses.
dcood (3 years ago)
As usual, Vegas was right. Nice game Pokes.
