Good Local News from NFL Draft

Justin Blackmon would have been the highest NFL draft pick from our state if he had elected to come out this year.
Instead, OSU’s All-American receiver Blackmon is the headliner of a group of players that decided to play for college glory and wait a year for the riches of the NFL.
Blackmon, according to many, would have been the third wide receiver picked but he was almost certain to be a first-round pick.
No other possibles from Oklahoma would have been in the first round, according to many experts.
Still, Blackmon’s OSU teammate, quarterback Brandon Weeden has to wonder where he might have fit into a draft so heavy in quarterbacks.
Weeden’s positives, a terrific arm and maturity, might have outweighed his negatives, age and limited experience.
Weeden certainly would have been an intriguing pick because he is an older player who burst onto the scene with a terrific season.
There were so many teams looking for quarterbacks in this draft that Weeden certainly would have received a lot of attention.
Ryan Broyles, OU’s All-American receiver, figured to be a second round pick.
Considering the level of receivers in the draft, and the rush on quarterbacks, it would have been tough for Broyles to move up very far in the draft.
A year from now all three may have a chance to move up in the draft. They’ll have to show it next fall and then test well at the combine and pro days.
Still, it is good news for us that all of them elected to come back.
We get another chance to see some of the most dynamic players in college football.
Few local players in the NFL draft is good news for us.

Since it didn't happen, you don;t know for sure if he would have even been drafted. If you can prove any of the thing's you say, do it.
