Good 'Ol Boys Coaching Club

West Virginia to the Big/Medium/Little 10/12 Conference?

West Virginia is LSU without teeth.

How about let's shake up the insider's club coaching fraternity at OU.

This staff is known for not having won a national championship, and for experiencing at least one meltdown per year, usually on the defensive side.

How about some new blood, a new idea or two?

It seems clear enough that the current teachings and technique are not sufficient to put the Sooners back on top anytime soon.

Are you saying that Bob's staff hiring policy of requiring a connection to late 70s/early 80s Iowa Hawkeyes football is not ideal? Shocking!

Back on top of what? They've won 7 league titles and according to Bob that's his primary goal each year. Haven't fared so well in the national title race and are inconsistent in the bowls. They are responsible for lifting Boise to annual overrated prominence because of the Fiesta fiasco. Bob and his boys aren't going anywhere anytime soon so expect more of the same...

I'd take West Va as a relacement for MO very quickly.

West Virginia is LSU without teeth. HMMM. Not sure what the Picker meant by that. I'd say be afraid, very afraid. Nevermind, now I get it. It's talking about dental care in the great state of WVA.

WVU mascot was former moonshiner in Deliverance.
Cheerleaders all play the banjo.

We're thrilled at the prospect of visiting Coal Mine stadium in late November.

Was UVW the team that beat OU in the Fiest Bowl? I would think that that qualifies them to be a competitive member of the Big 12.

What is the over/under on the number of fans who will follow OSU and OU when they play basketball at West Virginia?
The Picker (last year)
Gene, very good question.

The first road game at Morgantown, the over/under number on fans making their trip, using their own money and without relatives on the team, is 85.

I will take the under for ten, Pick

I think that Bob Stoops should listen to the Picker's advice in this blog post.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
