I’m not one to question Robert Allen’s passion for OSU football.
Allen is in fifth year as the OSU radio network’s sideline reporter and has more knowledge and insights into the Cowboys program than any media member in the state. Allen is an OSU graduate, has a son Zach who is a member of the OSU football team, and is an admitted OSU homer.
Yet, I really wonder if Allen wants to fulfill a statement he made the other day.
Allen said on his Stillwater radio show Monday morning that he had a discussion prior to last Saturday’s game at Arkansas State with defensive end Victor DeGrate and DeGrate’s parents. The conversation eventually got to DeGrate’s stylish Mohawk haircut. Allen promised DeGrate that if OSU earned an invitation to a big bowl game (which he clarified as the Cotton, Holiday or BCS bowl games) this year, he would sport a Mohawk cut himself for the bowl game.
OK. By my count, it will take a 9-3 or 10-2 record for Allen’s trip to the barber shop. Barber shops in Dallas, San Diego, and Phoenix are now alerted.
