Paul Haley Jr. has been one of the hottest players on the PGA’s Nationwide Tour, winning one event and finishing second in another, through the first eight events.
Haley’s father, Paul, was a star for Oral Roberts baseball in the early 1980s.
Haley Jr., who grew up playing little league baseball with Detroit Lions quarterback Matt Stafford and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw in Dallas, played college golf at Georgia Tech. He finished his career at the NCAA Tournament last spring at Oklahoma State’s Karsten Creek.
Haley won the Chile Classic Presented by Pacific Rubiales in just his third pro tournament, taking home the top prize of $108,000. He later added a runnerup finish ($44,800) at the TPC Stonebrae Championship at Hayward, Calif.
Haley’s earnings for the year are $158,264, good for third on the season money list.
Also in the top 10 on the Nationwide season earnings list with one victory is former OSU golfer Edward Loar.
Haley has received a sponsors exemption to play in the HP Byron Nelson Championship at the TPC Four Seasons Resort in Irving, Texas on May 17-20.
