After agreeing to terms with three rock stars (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh) in the offseason, the Miami Heat still had to go out and find guys to play in the band. And a former Oklahoma State player is getting an audition.
Ex-Cowboy point guard John Lucas is among 18 players on the Heat's training camp roster. He also was invited to training camp with the Chicago Bulls following strong summer league performances, but chose Miami -- a team that released him after four preseason games one year ago.
Lucas has been trying to latch on with NBA teams since his college career ended in 2005. He played 60 games with the Houston Rockets over a two-season span and has bounced around trying to find the right fit.
Many roster hopefuls would like Miami to be the right fit because it's the ideal place to be in a supporting cast. Do they fit you for a championship ring as soon as you try out for the Heat?
